You’re HERE! Let’s chat!

I’m Rachel, a photographer based out of southeast South Dakota. I love all things modern, simple, and real, and that’s what I aim for in my work. I want to give you a timeless style with images that perfectly capture your personality. Sure, we’ll get a couple of those standard “smile at me!” shots, but I’ll be sure and snap the in between moments too. Those are the ones that get me every time.

I’ve been around cameras for as long as I can remember. My mom was always a hobby photographer and our fridge was always stocked with film cartridges. One day a family friend finally convinced her to take their wedding portraits and soon enough she was diving in to the professional photography industry.

Naturally, I became my mom’s sidekick. I did many a wedding by her side, whether I liked it or not. And to be honest, I didn’t at the time. But as I got older I started to take an interest for myself. Fast forward to my freshman year of college and I decided to buy my very own camera. From there the rest is history and I’ve been officially taking pictures as Rachel Parsley Photography since 2015.

I love marriage. What a perfect gift from God! It’s fun, it’s messy, it’s full of adventure, and most of all, it’s real. To know and be fully known - there’s just nothing quite like it. My wonderful, energetic husband and I met in college and now we live in a small town with our baby girl, Edith. Owen is the absolute love of my life and if you meet him, it’s likely that you’ll agree that he’s one of the nicest and most outgoing people you’ve ever met. (It’s true, but I’m also biased so you’ll just have to meet him and judge for yourself). Edith has been rocking our world ever since she was born and it’s hard to even describe the joy she has brought us. She’s pretty cute and it’s so surreal that she’s ours.

Most of the time you can find us jamming out to newly found music (but not too loudly anymore —shhh. There’s a baby sleeping), making our 1920's house cozy, drinking coffee, traveling, cheering on our town's sports team, or throwing random get togethers (i.e. South Dakota themed parties). We just love anything that means deepening friendships, making people laugh, or meeting new people. In all we do we hope to point back to the one who gave us our passions, talents, and dreams in the first place: Jesus Christ. To him be all honor and glory. I praise him for allowing me to turn this dream into a reality.

That’s a little about me and it’s so very nice to meet you! (Well, kind of. Why don’t you go on and do a thing and fill out that contact form - then we can actually start to get to know one another).
